Carving Pumpkins

We went to the Pumpkin Patch (Vineyard, Utah) with Grandma Robertson and the local Robertson cousins! The kids look forward to this yearly tradition! They all enjoy going through the corn-maze (I think the girls really enjoy holding the boys hands as they walk through the maze--they really are adorable)! After the maze, they get to see some interesting animals--goats, turkeys, rabbits, roosters, chickens, and maybe a few other odd creatures. Then they get to play on the playground area and in the blown-up toys! Then we top it off with a little toddler oriented spook-alley (meaning, not spooky, just kind of dark). After that we get to pick out our pumpkins to take home and carve!

Carving the pumpkins is getting more exciting as the kids get older. This year Jon and I each helped a girl--I helped Aubrey and Jon helped Mariah. Aubrey enjoyed pulling off the top after I cut it and helping get the insides out of the pumpkin. Mariah on the other hand, would not even touch the insides. She was very disgusted by it. She would decide to help Jon pull some out and then change her mind as her hand got close to the seeds and goo. She did finally touch it and squealed out in fear and disgust! It was quite cute and funny! Jon also carved Jonathan's pumpkin which is a Star Trek Enterprise ship--perfectly scary for Halloween! Ha Ha!
